I tried gnome again for the past 5 years. It was clean and nice but I feel like it still doesn't handle software well. Mostly I mean the system tray. I don't like how it wants to force you to like have everything up at once by preventing minimization. I don't like the lack of configuration.
Everything on kid/plasma works well and there are so many nice options. Sometimes I'm just like "what if it worked this way?" And sure enough there's settings for that.
To each their own, though.
