A place for Australians and friends to share news from the other countries. Like all communities here, we discuss topics from the Australian perspective.

If you're looking for a global /c/worldnews instead, search for the many options on federated instances.

Rules
  1. Follow the aussie.zone rules
  2. We are not a generic World News clone. News must be relevant to Australians and our region. Obvious disregard will earn an warning and then a ban if continued. (If an article isn't from an Oceanian news outlet, and it doesn’t mention Australia, then it’s probably off-topic)
  3. News posts must include some body text explaining how the article is particularly relevant to the Australian perspective, rather than mere global news.
  4. Leave seppocentrism at the door. If you don't know what that means, you're not ready to post here yet.
  5. Avoid editorialising headlines. Opinions go in the comments, not the post.

WTF?

Wouldn't this put added stress on personnel? To see if they measure up?

Also sounds like he wants soldier bodies to be like machines.

Or is it about some sexuality bias?

The proposal sounds obscene to me.

fascist-leaning (small f) ideology has an obsession about their own unique concept of masculinity, including plenty of pseudo-science. One of the most striking cases is in food, where on the more extreme levels, infamous grifters (who are clearly lie about their own diet) pitch a cure-all "carnivore diet", or soy avoidance (supposedly increases estrogen; it doesn't), or raw milk drinking (I've heard a report that the NSN partake in this, along with other unlisted diet restriction). But on a lesser level, this filters down into a pseudo-scientific misinterpretation of proteins in fitness communities which has entered into our mainstream shopping experience.

Why Don't Fascists Eat Vegetables? is a very insightful watch. (The downside is the whole deep-dive is 6 hours long, but even watching sections is insightful)

I also wouldn't be too surprised if this is just posturing to the public, who may be concerned about of reports about the loosening fitness standards under previous regimes in a desperate attempt to try and boost falling military recruitment. But it's also obviously related to fascistic ideas of traditional gender, and the scapegoating of not just trans people, but also cis people who just aren't 'masculine' enough (yes, we know, they're hypocrites, it's obvious).
