An acronym for "Child Rape Media" would be CRM, possibly pronounced "kerm" or "krum." Either way, it wouldn't even be the correct initialism, since those aren't even the same letters as "CP."

It absolutely does not. This is what absolutely drives me fucking crazy about this, that not a single person who makes this assertion has actually looked up the definition.
CSAM is more accurate as H2O is more accurate instead of water or NaCl is for salt. Doesn't mean that you have to use it, and when the word pornography is used after the word child, everyone who is sane should know that it's wrong

I think CP is a simpler and clearer term than CSAM.
My advice is to know when to cut losses. If they don't mean harm then just don't reply to them, if they do mean harm then report them.

If you pretend not to understand how acronyms works in order to signal that you believe all CP is abuse, that makes it seem like maybe you don’t actually think all CP is abuse. A “the lady doth protest too much” situation.
Nowadays CP is deprecated since pornography implies consent, and as you have already implied kids legally can't you are right in saying that it's rape, but also it can't be pornography. Anyway, the modern term is CSAM, children sexual abuse material.
