BC produces excellent wines. The Okanagan Valley is a hidden gem in the world of wine and produces very diverse wines. Lots of smaller wineries and smaller vineyards, some big ones.
There's so much really good BC wine. Kelowna has a bit of a cooler climate compared to the southern parts and has some great whites. Lighter reds like Pinot Noir are great as you go south through Penticton, and Oliver, Osoyoos, and the Similkameen Valley have some fantastic full bodied reds. I really prefer Okanagan wine over most California wine.
Last week I went to taste wine in the Annapolis Valley in Nova Scotia and had some really good wine as well. No real full bodied reds, but some really nice whites - Dry Riesling and Pinot Gris being a few I brought home. Highly recommend checking it out, it's a bit of a hidden gem.
