This isn't that hard of a crisis, just excommunicate the nazis.

Boom, problem solved. Being the pope is easy, next try selling some of your gold and jewels to feed the hungry.

Yes, this is exactly what a schism is: An Excommunication of a group. The roman pope excommunicated all the other popes a while back (or it was the other way around, I forget), which is known as a schism which created the roman catholic church

That said, it will probably end in excommunication/schism

Not much of a "schism" if one part is just an insignificant splinter group consisting of loonies. Catholic and Protestant was a schism, but not this handful of Church Taliban.
