The cartoon gets one thing right: those four kids are physically together, but they're all alone looking at their screens.
Here's a story: I was on the train one day. The guy next to me was reading or watching something on his phone, and wasn't saying anything. At some point, he said "Eh, lol..." without looking up, without smiling or anything. Total zombie lol'ing at something on his phone: he just said it like he would have typed it. Creepy...
No they fuckng aren't. The people in this cartoon are literally holding conversations with each other.
I wish people wouldn't make comments like this just because they don't understand the different ways people can socialise

People have always wanted to pretend they’re in a comfy private space, not a wooden/metal box of some sort with a bunch of others.
I talk to myself out loud all the time. It's not that weird.
I yell at others all the time when I'm by myself & nobody can hear me. Mostly while driving.
