I am in torment trying to remember the parody cartoon that so masterfully delivers this joke.
It was some Zuko / Iroh like pair, but I don't think it was them. The hero kept getting increasingly frustrated with the sage and went off on a big rant.
The sage began to rebut, "The only way you will conquer is..." "... is to conquer yourself?" quiet stares "That's what you were going to say right?" "Not necessarily..."
Something like that... GAH what was it?!
