Probably it was scared too. I hope you can overcome your fear as moths are harmless, maybe they scare a bit, but still harmless (and facinating but i like insects so its biased). I defeated like 2 fears (spiders & fear of human touch) and may should fight against fear of "balls/things thrown that every single time landed in my face" but that one is harder because of desinterest and that its not an irrational fear. So i very much understand if you keep it because i very much do the same
Normally at least its worth it to fight the fear as long as there is intrinsic motivation (its the easy mode)
