I needed help understanding this brave new world, and this breakdown by ABitFruity really helped:

A longform leftist discussion on Clavicular: Clavicular Is a Symptom, Not The Cause (with F.D Signifier and Kat Tenbarge)

The TLDR: Clavicular correctly identifies a real issue that we on the left have identified for decades, that society and people within society are implicitly biased towards a social definition of beauty, which Clavicular identifies as the "floor" of your potential. No matter how good you are at something, if there is a more beautiful person as good (or even less good) at the same thing, society will pick the "more beautiful" over the more capable every time. Literally, Claviculars analysis is the same critical analysis that results in policies like DEI, to try and undo some of this implicit bias that society has artificially baked in. Its just that their response isn't to try and change or rage against that implicit bias, its to try and work within it, ie, look-maxing, to become the most beautiful person, so you start at the highest implicit social rung.

Just watch two minutes of this clip. It captures the whole point: https://inv.nadeko.net/pvqBPkJIkmc?t=4693

Thank you for sharing the video. I ended up watching the whole thing and found myself of a similar mind as the presenters: he makes a lot of points that sound downright reasonable. I expected some vapid jock-type like you typically see on reality TV, but he's able to articulate a lot of problems about our current society in ways that I can't really refute. It's just his solutions to those issues that are wrong.

And I think that's what makes his position as an influencer so dangerous. He's speaking to the genuine lack of class mobility that Millennials through Gen Alpha have had to accept as reality, and "proving" his point through his own life. Sure he might die by the age of 40 with how unhealthy his lifestyle is. But I think a lot of people in the younger generations would likewise rather party it up to unhealthy degrees while young than work a menial dead-end job for 50 years, hoping you get a couple years of retirement in your old age before you die.

I think that really nails it. Also, I think something the panel highlights, is how dismissive and frankly, arrogant, the existing criticism of Clavicular seems to be. Because it only further entrenches people who might be convinced by Clavicular to be even further influenced by Clavicular.

The Austrailian 60 minutes interview, where the interviewer with like, underwear model level good looks makes the claim "Of course my success isn't related to me being handsome. Obviously its because I'm so egregiously talented": Its so on the nose.

And I love how FD connected it to white supremacy, because its exactly what it is. Its the same thing, and his metaphor that white supremecy is the dark matter of our society; that its made to be invisible but makes up 90% of what exists..
