There is apparently a service that will offer dropping woodchips or logs at your house for free. Arborists will do this instead of paying fees to dump them.

While I've been signed up for a while, I haven't received any drops but I thought others would like to try.

I've gotten 2 drops from them. When my requests expired, I just raised the donation by $10 each time until I got a drop. Takes about a full day with a 5-tined fork, wheelbarrow, and garden rake to spread it all around my beds; and I usually have ~1yd^3 left over that I add to my compost bin throughout the year.
