Waste Management tried that same shit on me.
Someone put stuff in my bin after I put it out. They tried to give me a strike.
The next door neighbor bin was overfilled. They tried giving me a strike.
Their AI camera thought it saw something in my bin. They tried giving me a strike.
Each time I contacted them to formally contest the accusation. They said there’s no way to contest these. I said if there’s a penalty, I have a right to due process and contacted my city council.
The garbage company stopped harassing me with BS warnings.
These are some really valid points. What if a neighbor places their bins close to yours and the trash company can't determine whose bin is which?
And some neighbors in this world think it's appropriate to top of another neighbor's bin if it's not completely full. Even if their neighbor objects.
And the company should always default to giving the benefit of the doubt to their customers, especially when they call to contest a penalty.
