That's so fucking awful. Even more when you consider the local culture! We all know people from pa ky ga fl and tx eat dogs for lunch and cats for breakfast (reversed in tx) and it would be such a faux pas to eat either for dinner.

I’m sorry you had to go through this as a kid. They clearly didn’t know that it’s for dinner
