Just that an in-game answer would be much simpler than learning how save files are structured.
Ah. I don't think there is one, sadly
I think the answer might be there, but internet searches for the element types didn't yield any hits and the names used in the file are, I feel, open to interpretation and therefore were of no use to me. For example, one element was named "Quest isNull" and set to TRUE. Does it indicate there is no quest attached yet, or that no quest should be generated (presumably because there already is one)?
I saw quest data listed for the item later on, but I suspect it may have been more for the type of quest rather than a specific one. What I took for a quest ID, also showed up for another quest in the file with the same type, but with a description which implied a different source (shared by a trader instead of discovered from a map).
I ended up selling the item. If I get saddled with another, I'll know to keep notes on whether it's given up its secrets or if it's of no further use. Thank you for trying to help.
