House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-N.Y.) on Sunday said Democrats will not focus on impeaching President Trump if they regain a majority in the lower chamber after midterm elections.
“I’ve made clear from the very beginning that our top priority is going to be to drive down the high cost of living,” the House minority leader added.
The House minority leader has lauded Democrats’ push for redistricting nationwide in an effort to pick up additional House seats and signaled that the party will advocate more for working-class Americans, after Democrats saw losses from the key demographic in the 2024 election.

But she chose a losing policy and lost. The entire left was telling you she was going to lose. But the left isn't netanyahu, so centrists didn't listen.
People didn't vote because they felt like Harris was not worth voting for. She lost because she didn't actually offer anyone what they wanted, she was just a harm reduction candidate at best. I've voted in every election I was ever eligible to vote in. I am simply explaining why the Democrats lost. You can hate the people who didn't vote if you want, I understand that frustration, but there is a very good reason they didn't vote - because they didn't perceive the Democratic candidate to be someone worth voting for.
