I'm not sure what to downvotes mean. Is it because of the instant checkout links? They don't want Epic Games posting? They don't like the games?

Some people just don't like Epic. Don't worry about it, plenty more people are very happy for the post :)

Yeah same, I've claimed hundreds of games on there (and even played a few of them!) without ever registering a payment method or even anything more than an email address

I think it's mostly accidental and idiots from /all who don't understand how things work.
