Even in the black book of communism they never got to 100 million. They most was 94 with a 'most likely' number being 60 something million.
I remember once hearing Steven Crowder or Charlie Kirk claim the number is based on reports from numerous organizations that he spouted in a typical Gish gallop but nothing he said was true. It was entirely the black book of communism and much of that book was made up.
For example German military casualties in the eastern front were added, as were even some holocaust victims (socialists and Russians were killed in the camps, too) and even death camp guards who died fighting instead of fleeing or surrendering.
Their mention of the Chinese famine of 1959-1961 was impossible. Even the most meticulous Chinese sources don't go as high as they claim. And foreign sources are spotty and unreliable at best.
It was all bullshit.
