We should derail the trolley if it can only go forward at varying speeds.
Maybe living on a planet where people are constantly tied to trolley tracks was a mistake.

Yes, the conductor (ruling class) is the one in charge of the trolley. They’re free to stop the trolley and hop off if they want to live.
