Evangelical Christianity IS a manifestation of capitalism. It is the culture arm of capitalism.

It predate capitalism by a thousand year but ok.

You're thinking of protestant, it's not secret that allowing usury meant breaking up from the pope. But even then, religions are theaters of the class war, not only tools for the powerful.

Christianity predates capitalism. Evangelical Christianity is a much more modern development.
