Canada Housing

This is a community to discuss the housing crisis in Canada.

All so Canadians can find a decent home to live in.

Racism is still absolutely prohibited, but you are welcome to debate population growth, immigration rate, foreign home buyers, and the merits of single family homes or the green zone.

A merge of r/canadahousing and r/canadahousing2 for those coming from Reddit.

Bits of the sidebar and logo taken from those subs and will be going through a slight revision as things get settled.

Here's three perspectives on the same topic from the last few months. They each poke many holes through the BCH and its approach.

From August last year: https://lenispooner.substack.com/p/build-canada-homes-affordable-family-housing

From November: https://chodikoff.substack.com/p/build-canada-homes-is-finally-clear

And now this one from yesterday: https://tparkin.substack.com/p/while-transit-recover-stumbles-carney

Around the announcement they outright asked Gregor Robinson and Carney if they wanted prices to fall, and they said no. So I think you are assuming their goal is something that it is not, because their goal is deliberately stated not to make housing affordable for average Canadians.

That conclusion is well in line with everything those articles point towards.

All window-dressing, absolutely no substance!
