Given that it wasn't at Bethesda proper, it wasn't Fallout 5. They won't start that until Elder Scrolls VI is close to release...
That just makes it worse.
the only good fallout game in the 3d era, was made by a not-bethesda studio. So a third party game ala new vegas would have probably been fucking amazing, and is a loss to not have.
