That's no good for them. They want the age of conquests to be seen as the glory days, so they can have their own war campaigns. This is what happened in Russia, then look at what they're doing in Ukraine. Hungary also tries to paint over its colonial past, so one day someone can deslavialize the Slovakian nation (context: there's a very popular conspiracy theory, that claims the Slovakians are just Magyars forced to speak a "made up" Slav language, to destroy the Magyar nation)
