okay then tell me, has there ever been a smart time to be alive?
Suffering is universal. That being said, I always thought living in the Americas before the Europeans came would have be nice.
Wouldn't you get sacrificed on an altar and turned into a ball?

That's kind of like saying all of Europe is hyper inbred because the Habsburg's existed. Precolonial United States and Canada were actually really kick ass and culturally diverse. We're even finding out that a huge portion of the "untamed lands" that we cut down for crops were effectively curated foraging gardens that could feed thousands with next to no upkeep and were socially available for everyone.
That's.. a very small part of native Americans. Not to mention region specific. Though admittedly I know little about them
