According to the article, the whole search started because they found the mother dead by the side of the road.

I didn't get that from the article I clicked on? It only talked about hearing and finding the kits. I'm glad they are cared for now that mommas gone...

I'm sorry to say, it was because they found the mother killed by a car that they realized they needed to look for her babies.
