MLK gets all the credit, but the only reason anybody listened to him was because the alternative was Malcom X and the Black Panthers.

Which would also be a hell of a band name.

But anyways, my kids come home from school every January talking about MLK Jr. Public education really plays up the peaceful/non-violent protestor. He did a lot, sure, but nobody would've listened to him otherwise.
