There are dozens of us! Not that I ever met anyone else with this particular flavor but me. I am sorry you got the whammy, too. Can't say I recommend it.
If I hear two different audio tracks at the same time, I usually completely short-circuit, or if it catches me off-guard I might faint and collapse.
Go to dinner party with music, a video game in the living room and several conversations at the same time? Totally crippling. And leading to a migraine if I dont escape it.
Even hardly going anywhere, I wear headphones and earplugs so much of the time that my ears get sores and infections. I love music but for my sanity I mostly listen to brown noise or classical to drown out the everything outside. I wish the world had a volume dial. Or mute button. I guess then I'd just hear the tinnitus.
Sorry, I needed to vent for minute.
