The photos with the GOPoversight watermark look AI-ified to me. Their heads look too big for their bodies, which makes them look like children. Wide heads combined with Bill's oddly long and narrow hand... Guess this slop is just standard procedure for the GOP now.
It might be the camera lens used. Different focal lengths can distort like this.
But you are right. They look odd.
If I had to guess based on my photography experience, I'd say it was a wide angle lens. Maybe 20mm or something around there.
But to get that effect with a wide angle lens, you would also have to be incredibly close to them. Like maybe 4-5 feet away.
The distortion is less strong if the camera is farther away. These lenses are typically used for landscape photos. Not portraits.
But they can allow you to get wide photos in small spaces.
These lenses are used some times in realtor postings of houses for sale. It can make the inside look much larger.
The way the lens distorts is dependent on the distance from the lens. So they can expand things in different ways.
These are the lenses used to make it look like the fish you are holding is huge.
Also a smaller focal length usually makes people less attractive. I wouldn't put it past them to be intentionally using it for that reason.
