Women only trans inclusive This is an inclusive community for all things women. Whether you're here for make up tips, feminism or just friendly chit chat, we've got you covered.

Rules…

  1. Women only… trans women are women, and transphobic or gender critical talk isn’t allowed. Anyone under the trans umbrella (e.g. non-binary, bigender, agender) is free to decide whether a women's community is a good fit for them.
  2. Don’t be a dick. No personal attacks, no aggression, play nice.
  3. Don’t hate on groups, hatefilled talk about groups is not allowed. Ever.
  4. No governmental politics, so no talk of Trump actions etc. We recommend Feminism@beehaw.org for that, but here is an escape from it.
  5. New accounts or users with few comments may have their posts removed to prevent spam and bad-faith participation.

Most of us have celebs that make our skin crawl and we suspect will end up being accused of terrible things. What are yours?

It's Friday! This week's game is simple. Reply making a comment about the person below you, the user that replies saying if its true then makes the next statement.

So for example... Person1: the person below me likes cheese! Person2: yes I do it's delicious! The person below me has a pet iguana

Either reply to existing comments or do your own

That you're willing to share? I have made damn near every pancake recipe I could find in the internet and none of them were really fantastic. I don't know what's missing. They just seem... blah?

I'm looking for a fantastic, basic as hell pancake recipe. If you have one. And you're willing to share.

I will repay the entire internet in like... a week when I make the strawberry/watermelon jam-filled cupcakes.

Our D&D campaign is wrapping up after 2 years or so and my character who is a 2 1/2 foot tall Faerie is going to be given some award for service at Queen Titania's court. She needs a dress! I've been using a vtubing set up to play in character for the last 6 months or so and I would love some feedback about what works and what doesn't with this dress. It's very basic at the moment, I have not done any texture work really, it's just a flat colour with a black border. There's no notions or decorations or anything. And I need the model ready for Tuesday so I can't do anything SUPER crazy, but I could spend a couple of days adding some stuff. I'd like to add something to wrap around the shoulders and arms and I have an idea for that, think like a boa but instead of fuzzy it would be a lacy bit of fabric that would drape around and reach the floor after falling off each wrist.

Does the colour work? Should I use a different colour for the accent other than black? Help!

There's a few out there I only know UK ones. Anyone know others?

Hollie Guard is a brilliant app. You input a trusted person's phone number and if you're in trouble shake your phone hard. It sends a text with your location on it to your emergency contact.

Text register to 999 so you can text them if you need help but can't talk.

What 3 words is an app that has mapped every part of the UK and given it 3 words. Even if you're in the middle of a field it's got specific words for the bit of field you're in!

Also not an app but I love the Internet boyfriend skit you can play if you feel unsafe in an uber

Anyone got more?

The recommendations I’ve seen have varied wildly from 6 weeks to 6 months. The obvious answer is “once it’s healed enough”, but I am not sure how to judge that. I got my lobes pierced about a month ago, and I’m eager to upgrade from the simple silver studs! But I also don’t want to risk damaging the healing process and making the piercing angry.

Any advice is appreciated 😊

It can be a great day, but it can be awful. How is it for you?

Some people see home as somewhere to sleep, other people see it as their castle. Some people love being away, others don't. How much of a home bird are you?

Women are trained to value themselves by their appearance and simultaneously hate it. We're too fat, legs too short, wrong shape, stretch marks from childbirth etc etc. And it's so much worse if you're trans, non white and so on. What do you like about your body?

Be mindful of no politics, so you can talk about say, an assault on women's rights, but don't go into specific political actions or politicians.

Thanks to Dandelion for this suggestion! The game is simple... describe a movie really badly. People then either guess your movie, or start a comment thread with their own.

For example for Alien... "murderous and icky Alien released on spacecraft. Many dead, but fortunately the cat survives".

I just lost a family member (not a close one, but I did love him). Not sure yet when the funeral will be, but I'll need to plan ahead, and I'm not sure where to start. When my boyfriend died (8 years ago) we made copies of his favorite tshirt and wore those. I'm guessing this will be a slightly dresser function.

Also parents... I feel unsure doing parent threads as I'm not a parent, and don't want to speak for you. If any of you want to start doing parenting posts, please feel free to 😃

We face a lot of pressures at work, and deal with systemic misogyny as well as our personal difficulties. What have you seen derail a woman's career?

Some idiot told me that I don't talk like a woman, that I talk like a man. Not that my voice sounds masculine (it doesn't) but that I "use masculine words or phrases" what the fuck does that even mean?

If there's a better community to post this please let me know and I'll delete this and post it again there.

Edit: They aren't a man, they're a woman. She definitely gave off the JK Rowling TERF vibes though.
