(edit 3/23/25: re-stickying this since we've gained a lot of new users in recent months)

I just want to post a reminder that this is the general memes community, and we'd prefer for political memes to be directed to c/political_memes.

Thanks, TPM

Why dating is hard (lemmy.world)
submitted 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago) by [email protected] to c/[email protected]

Edit: because a few comments make me worry that some are taking this seriously - this meme is a play on the type of hopeless dating posts you might find in less healthy corners of the internet. The joke is a suggestion that the real problem is that one man in the image has some sort of arrow-attracting superpower.

People always talk about Seymour waiting… But Luck of the Fryrish is a different kind of pain.

You spend the whole episode thinking Fry’s brother stole his name, his dreams, and even his four-leaf clover. You hate him for it.

But in the end…

“Here lies Philip J. Fry. Named for his uncle. To carry on his spirit.”

He didn’t steal anything. He was honoring him.

Fry wasn’t forgotten. He became a legacy.

That twist doesn’t just hurt—it heals. And somehow… that makes it worse.

This wasn’t just a sad episode. This was misunderstood love revealed too late.

This was cutting edge tech... I remember the excitement of replacing floppy discs with CDRs...
