‘(2001)’ is part of the title.

Bandcamp here for those who prefer Bandcamp. The mix is different, however, less bassy.

Released 01 January 1998. Brazilian? Spanish? Not sure...

A random find but surprised by how great this is.

From this album of all covers:

The album was recorded during Björk's time in The Sugarcubes. Six or seven of the original fourteen songs are jazz standards, but sung in Icelandic; plus the two live bonus tracks at the end are straightforward covers in English.

Björk and the band also looked pretty lively:

What should I change/add? I'll make a v2 based on comments.

Obviously this is a lighthearted, semi-joke post lol.

Made with the combo setting in mind. Big band maybe requires a different list.

Angelina Jordan released her first full length solo album, Secret of the Soul, about a month ago. She had to self-publish it to be able to make the kind of music she wants. The album consists of 12 ~~songs~~ masterpieces composed by Angelina with poetic lyrics by her grandmother Mery "Mosarz" Zamani. It should be available in all the streaming services, and an LP should be coming at some later time.

For those who don't know who Angelina Jordan is: She is a Norwegian singer who gained some worldwide fame after winning Norway Got Talent with her jazz-style singing when she was only 7 years old. There are over 200 videos of her performances on YouTube. Some of them have millions of views, the most viewed having over 100 million views. She is now 19 and lives in Los Angeles.

Morrn 🤘🏻

#JohnZorn is constantly releasing albums with different lineups, but his inner circle has come up with something really special during the pandemic. Recorded in 2020, released a couple of weeks ago, Prologomena brings us a #Classical masterpiece not for the faint of heart. Maybe his best composition of the last 10 years. I was in awe from the first note on. Not to be missed. 10/10.
