So - with GW3 on the horizon and the announcement of support for all 3 games I started to wonder about the lemmy communities.

With lemmy and piefed being not as big as the other place, I came to terms with the fact that highly specified communities don't really make sense as those are a niche within a niche and so get limited activity.

That said, I was always glad to see GW2 having a relatively active comm and I'm a little concerned about what GW3 might do with it. Also, since it's GW2 specific it's not a great place to hype up GW3. And while I see GW3 community exists, there is all in all 2 subs on there.

So I'd like to propose having a central, Guild Wars Franchise community where all 3 games would be discussed. This would make thr community more active, while also giving people idea what's happening in the other games.

Thoughts?

PS: I thought I'd also directly tag @meldrik@lemmy.wtf here, as a moderator of both GW1 and GW2 comms and also sole poster in GW3 comm (which makes me think you made it as well?) to also ask you directly what you think about the idea. I don't have any experience with this so maybe you will tell my why it's not a good idea?

BlishHUD is a 3rd party addon for GW2 that displays additional game information. It is quite popular but unfortunately it also was really hard to get running on Linux because on Windows it runs as a transparent window on top of the game. There are solutions for kwin that workaround that by using a shader but that lead to ugly artifacts around the BlishHUD windows. I recently found a project called external-dx11-overlay while searching for a better solution. It runs BlishHUD with a dx11 render hook inside of the game and from my testing so far it seems flawless.

Pretty huge nerfs nearly across the board. Will be interesting to see what the new benches are after this.

I was wondering what titles you have on your characters and why? Or maybe you are working towards a title at the moment?

I have been rolling "Decade's Devotion" for some time, but recently got the "Returning Champion" when I finally finished the achievement "Seasons of the Dragons".
