Amsterdam made a half arsed attempt to discourage British tourists to the city because (apparently unlike every other young group of men from every other country) they were seen to be drinking excessively, looking for marijuana, and making use of the prostitutes that line the streets.
This meme is trying to say that a British tourist seemingly prevented a crazy knife wielding attacker in Amsterdam which directly contradicted the scapegoating campaign.
Visiting Amsterdam as a Brit does typically make me feel ashamed of my fellow countrymen though.
Just remember you aren't american. Hopefully that makes you feel better
Not a big deal, anyone visiting Amsterdam feels ashamed of their fellow countrymen. It's not you, it's them.
