The mineral deal offers Ukraine next-to-nothing. It offers Ukraine the 'opportunity' to pay Trump for the privilege of being a Russian colony.

May Ukraine prevail regardless, with the help of Europe.

One has a chance to be a bit less shitty in 4 years.

Whereas the other might be a bit less shitty soon as someone takes down Putin

Do you honestly think with what has happened thus far that we will see an election in 4ish years?

I was calling it even before he went into office. Two facts:

  • he tried to take over the gov by force
  • he can't be elected again after the current term

The conclusion of what's gonna happen when the next elections should come is really simple. Not what exactly he'll do, but definitely the general direction he's gonna follow.

I think it will happen, I guess the institutions would still have enough honorable people in 4 years to hold up enough to make it possible. My worry is rather with the media, with all the billionaire owners kneeling down for profit, will good quality information still be able to reach the average American in 4 years for those willing to make an informed choice?

The question is what will trump do if Ukraine says "neither"

Exactly, this headline makes it sound like both parties will just let the other one have the resources for themselves.

Also I hate the number being cited all the time, as if americans wouldn't have to pay to dispose of their aging hardware anyway.
