Stop assuming my pawns' gender! Get your own gender, copycat!

Hey if a woman can be King - it's happened, look it up - then a man can be Queen. Or in Queen.

[–] idiomaddict@lemmy.world 5 points 1 year ago

A man May be in Queen.

I have been trying to apply the pattern behind this chess opening but now i am stuck in this position. What is my best move?

(i am truly sorry)

Can a pawn change into another pawn? Asking for a very stupid friend

[–] letsgo@lemm.ee 10 points 1 year ago (1 children)

https://handbook.fide.com/chapter/E012023 3.7.3.3 No.

It'd be an extreme edge case where not promoting would be useful.

Pawn can't capture sideways, how would it ever be useful?

Forcing stalemate if you're super down in material

[–] Mr_Fish@lemmy.world 6 points 1 year ago

Maybe if any promotion would lead to a stalemate

If your opponent plays strictly by a point system, like a computer might, and if the piece is threatened, it might be beneficial to keep the value low to trick the oppont to do something else, while you keep the useless pawn as an obstruction, which could somehow limit your opponent's future moves.

Anyway, it's apparantly not allowed.

[–] letsgo@lemm.ee 3 points 1 year ago

Well exactly. I can't think of one. It could only be useful in a situation where having a dead weight in a cell would solve some problem or other, but I've no idea how.

Well, if I become a horse they just gonna put me down immediately (so a win),
if I become a derelict crumbing building I'll feel exactly the same way as now,
if I change gender that won't help me with my ugly,
and if I join a cult I better make sure it's the one following the dark (black) path.

So anyway a furry is the answer.

[–] ruk_n_rul@monyet.cc 4 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Becoming a furry also turns you straightn't, this 💯% checks out

[–] Comment105@lemm.ee 2 points 1 year ago

That's not just a furrry, look at the animal.

That pawn is considering going brony.

Wait ... Can I play chess using nothing but knights? 🤔

I wouldn't capture the king. I would trample him under a stampede of horses.

[–] letsgo@lemm.ee 2 points 1 year ago

Well in theory you could lose your queen, bishops and rooks, and promote all 8 pawns to knights. Your opponent would likely have to play along, possibly even doing the same.

Thank you for mentioning furries and not therians /srs

[–] PugJesus@lemmy.world 3 points 1 year ago (1 children)
