Also, I had to make this moment into a gif, because I did see this episode recently and I laughed my ass off. This is a few moments after Kirk summons McCoy and Spock to the bridge.

Kirk is apparently such a dick about these things that Spock is barely surprised. And virtually every weird things humans do surprises him.

Ah, it's from The Naked Time. I would have guessed Turnabout Intruder with a line that bad. Haven't seen much TOS in a while.
Both TOS Naked Time and TNG Naked Now came at an odd time in the series. Early first season, the characters normal behaviors weren’t established yet, and we’re supposed to just know that they just don’t have a weekly orgy in the far future.
That's funny because, at least according to a lecture Gene Roddenberry gave that I had on LP, that he originally wanted the ship's crew to be half men and half women, but the executives made him change that because, "people will think that something's going on up there!"
Much more normal to have an all-male crew. Because rest assured, absolutely nothing would be "going on." Nope. Nothing. And definitely not snoodling.
Starfleet is based on the navy and we all know what sailors get up to.
It's not just the navy. Was over a friend's house and a friend of a friend stopped by already drunk. Was barely 10 minutes before he's complaining about gays in his army unit. "You can't have fuckin f**s around. If the boys are playing grabass the fuckin f**s are just gonna enjoy it. Fuck that shit!" Etc etc. Thankfully he moved to the kitchen to drink more.
I've never heard so many unironic "America, fuck yeah!"s in my life, before or since.

TOS has some bangers like that. You can hear Shatner's hamminess in your choice of panels.
