This is one of those "morale" things to distract from him firing a bunch of top military leaders to replace them with his personal yes-men, the general dumb shit they're doing in Iran, and another F-35 having been shot down.

Can't wait to see how many "accidental shootings" start happening at the Exchange and the Commissary.

Bring your gun to work day is exactly what i'd expect from ol' Drunky McNaziTattoo.

This could potentially kill more us military personel than iran will.

A lot of people hate the us, but none moreso than republicans.

For a brief moment I forgot how fucked we are...

I just assumed it was letting people on base housing have their guns instead of locking them up in base armory...

Nope:

Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth on Thursday signed a directive allowing service members to request permission to carry privately owned firearms on military installations while off duty, the Pentagon said in a statement.

Dude is completely out of touch with the military if he thinks out of uniform carry isn't going end in friendly fire on US soil.

Some hot head is going to whip out a piece at the base bowling alley, I guarantee it.

There's gonna be a shit ton more...

Loads of people illegally keep guns on base housing, and carry on base.

But some of the ones that would commit gun crimes on base in the heat of a hypothetical moment, weren't willing to constantly break the rules by having a gun...

Now that it's not breaking the rules, lots of them will start. And some of them won't be able to restrain themselves.

Maybe that's the point. They're still looking for that false flag they never got in Minnesota.
