Fun series, but the anime is really rushed.

It went past the manga adaptation which has ~40 fairly big chapters (30-40 pages each) in 12 episodes, and this cuts a lot of the world and character building parts that make this series so enjoyable to read.

I've read volume 1 of the light novel, is it worth carrying on?

That powerpoint adaptation did the series dirty. I think I'm actually looking less forward to the next LN volume after this anime. I really don't think this adaptation had any redeeming qualities, and I think the series (or IP) would have been better off without it.
