Just in time for high end PCs to cost as much as a used car.

Going by Steam Survey, I think the PS5 is more powerful than the majority of gaming PCs. Most people aren't rocking 5090s with peak CPUs.

They arent... But thats overkill too, you can get ps5 equivalent with a 3080. I don't even consider that the overall stat to worry about, its more like install base and scalability. You can run a lot of PS5 games with less power, and having so many steam users who will be retained longer through multiple console generations has value. I dont need to purchase a PS6 when my PC will run those games and keep my old ones. I can buy new games without buying new hardware. Thats a valuable market for someone selling software.

Most people aren't running 3080s either though. The 60 class series is by far the most popular on Steam Survey results.

Steam got around 132 milion scrive users monthly: target the "some" of the most wealthy is what "most" AAA publisher, that sells at AAA price are looking for. It's not about "some" 3080: it's about starting from there and add all people that paid premium price for their upgrade above that.

I understand and acknowledge that, but doesn't really have to do with the assertion that ps5 is mid range, which is the topic.

Maybe that means we can finally get FF on PC without having to wait a year after the console release?

I'm not interested in high performance, cutting edge graphics, or fps. I just want a good game and I don't want to wait the better part of a decade for it to come out.

Ffxvi is fine, but compared to previous FFs it's a hack'n'slash dark and gritty cinematic experience. Now I'll have to wait 10 years to see if the next one is more fun.

Something they should have said many years ago.
