Hallo, kürzlich hat lemmy.dbzer0.com eine Abstimmung über die Trennung von feddit.org durchgeführt und es scheint, dass sie als Ergebnis der Abstimmung beschlossen haben, eine diffamierende Zensur zu verhängen. Wie auf dem Bild zu sehen ist. Dies ist inakzeptabel, da Feddit nicht zionistisch ist und keinerlei Zionismus fördert. Dies ist eindeutig eine Verleumdung.

Ich habe mit DeepL übersetzt, da ich kein Deutsch spreche.

Hello, recently lemmy.dbzer0.com held a vote post about defederation from feddit.org and it seems they decided to make a defamatory censure as a result of the voting. As visible in the image. This is unacceptable since Feddit is not Zionist and does not promote Zionism of any kind. This is clearly defamation.

What the admins of dbzer0 do with their instance is entirely their decision.
It's their servers, their communities and their users.
No point getting worked up about it.

The only thing I'm a bit pissed about are the users who told me I personally support the genocide, simply by being on feddit.

False. The censure is not defamatory.

Look, I get it. You claim that a fair portion of the users of f.o are not zionists. But if that were true, shouldn't they, ya know, oppose Zionism? IMO it's pretty easy: want f.o to seen as not-a-Zionist? Dethrone the f.o admins and put decent people in charge.

Thats not how that works. Every server can do what it wants, and the reasoning for defederation can be arbitrary. If they think the moderators at feddit.org are too protective of Zionism, that's their opinion, and there's nothing you can do about it. The excuse that this is required by German law doesn't change the fact that this law protects Zionists.

Das Erstellen eines censure in böser Absicht ist Verleumdung. Dbzer0 kann sich abmelden, wenn sie möchten. Allerdings missbrauchen sie das censure-System auf Feddit, wenn sie censure erstellen, ohne dass diese der Wahrheit entsprechen. Feddit unterstützt den Zionismus nicht. Feddit erlaubt Kritik an Israel. Etwas anderes zu behaupten, ist Verleumdung.

Defamation law applies to individuals not social media platforms so this is just nonsense. You can call it lying or whatever you want, but its not defamation. Also arguing that Israel should be allowed to exist in its current state (as a zionist, genocidal, expansionist murder machine that treats non jewish people like subhumans) is obviously zionism. Not reforming Israel into a state that is something other than what Israel is today is zionism. There is no future for the middle east while Israel is an ethnostate.

Let's do a fun experiment here! I propose to ban the infamous pro-childmolestation instance discuss.tchncs.de , because their users are molesting children! Let's have a vote to exclude those child molesters from our instance! Did you feel a little bit defamed?

Let's be honest: dbzer0 is saying very loudly that every user on feddit.org is supporting murder and genocide. Which is simply not true.

I wouldnt give a shit if you said that, because i know im innocent and its easy to disprove. Are the db0 admins even saying that its every single feddit user though? If its just some random users saying it then thats kinda irrelevant.

They were willing to claim the instance is full of Zionists. That's at the very least a sweeping generalization, and they made a censure in bad faith.

Well, you're kind of doing the same sweeping generalization in the other thread. There were plenty of people in their voting thread that disagreed. I also feel that that problem with dbzer0 becoming more tanky adjacent and unhinged is rather recent. I'm not entirely sure what happened. But let's all cool our jets and try to discuss in good faith.

Defamation, is how Feddit admins have referred to censures being abused in the past and I'm inclined to agree. It's an informal use-case (we're not in a court of law here) but it is defamatory nonetheless, as it is a false statement meant to damage Feddit's reputation.

Well i would argue its not even defamation with your definition. Because their argument is that following german law is inherently zionist. So if you wont even try to refute that then there is no point in complaining about their judgment.
