The updated map screenshots look sick. Excited for new champs and rapid fire game mode. Initial reaction to the post seems like great updates all around - seriously looks like a major update.
Deadlock
A Lemmy community for the upcoming Valve Corporation game Deadlock
2 new heroes per week is crazy scheduling, I wonder how big the full roster will be on release
Those new Patrons looks sickkkkkk.
I feel like I should try this out again, anyone got any tips for a quick start guide?
The other two didn't mention it, but you can play against bots with other real players. (If others are in the queue)
It's not 100% representative of real matches, but the bots have above average AI, and you can take it easy without stressing about playing "optimally" right off the bat.
Streey Brawl is good, but it does get VERY hectic. If you don't mind that, it's a very fun mode that'll drip feed you the items in the game.
Deathy has said he is working on a new/returning player's guide for this update, so keep an eye on his channel. I think he's one of the better educators around at the moment, particularly in terms of macro decision making (which can give you a big advantage when you're new or playing in lower ranks). While you're waiting for a more general guide, check out these videos from him:
- Guide to the laning stage (general advice + how to play when you're ahead, behind or even)
- How to be a more efficient player (very useful for mid-game, which is generally the hardest part of the game for new/lower ranked players)
In general, look for tutorials/guides/coaching sessions from December 2025 onwards, as there was a big rework to laning in late November that changed how you want to approach it.
I've played a bit of 'normal' Deadlock before and I have to say that the new Brawl mode is even more chaotic than the regular mode. So I guess your best bet is just to hop into the game and play a couple of rounds, watch a random video on YT and then just jump into brawl, if that's your jam. Probably best to learn just by playing.
There's also some playground ingame where you can just toy around with different heroes and try them out.
Looks sick! Can't wait to play it on my Steam Machine, while streaming it to my Steam Frame!

Too bad Valve do not support their own operating system and even Proton isn't tested:

Deadlock in VR would be pretty sickening. I know I would lose my lunch after 5 minutes
