Maybe it's the decade of the Linux desktop?
Slowly but surely, I feel like Linux has been really popular lately even two years ago when I jumped onboard the Linux train it felt like it was getting pretty mainstream and now much more so with people like gamers nexus including it in their latest videos a lot and talking about all the reasons to do so
What is the metric?
For me, the year of the Linux Desktop was in 2007 or so.
Many YouTubers recommend it nowadays, as an alternative to Windows 10 ending its support. Often its said that the look (at least on the surface) is similar to Windows 10. I wonder how much other distributions are affected by this, especially Linux Mint, Bazzite and SteamOS itself.
I am glad to have jumped on when I did. A few years have passed, and almost everything I hadba gripe over is fixed.
Downloaded and installed today. Dual boot still 🥺 because of 3 apps I use every day only available IN Windows.
Zorin 18 looks pretty good but it needs some tweaks here and there.
do you think it will help if the companies making those 3 apps actually extend linux support?
Absolutely. I am done with Windows. The software is from Serif, the British company behind the Affinity platform, and they have a big announcement at the end of the month. Fingers crossed it is multiplatform support.

Do you think this software might work with Bottles or similar Windows emulating platforms? Could be worth a shot to be rid of Windows entirely.
