this conversation needs to happen. NDP should go back to it's roots and instead of seeking power, should talk about things others would rather not: stop talking "economy and GDP" and start talking "worker protections" , human dignity and human rights. Unfortunately electoral reform speech coming from NDP right now would sound like "sore loser whining" but it also needs to be talked about.
New Democratic Party
For those that seek a future that brings together the best of the insights and objectives of people who, within the social democratic and democratic socialist traditions, have worked through farmer, labour, co-operative, feminist, human rights and environmental movements, and with First Nations, Métis and Inuit peoples, to build a more just, equal, and sustainable Canada within a global community dedicated to the same goals.
People always say the NDP, Bloc and Greens are trying to game the system with their favourite electoral system. However it is the same one that the impartial citizens assemblies (like juries) haves voted in favour of after examining all the options ie a form of proportional representation.
But the liberals and conservatives want to silence all dissenting voices and force their false majorities onto everyone. They fervently love first-past-the-post because it trashes everyone’s vote except for the cons and liberal ones in most ridings.
