Dog/cat food wasn't a thing before the 50's, for the most part.
Today, most people think you gotta feed them special food.
Some recent research (sorry, can't find the link) shows pretty clearly that dogs do better eating the same food we do (well, real food, not the processed crap). Imagine that!
But let cat eat human food is not healthy. Cat is carnivorous. If you let cat eat bread, noodle, rice, ... staple food that people eat for carbohydrates, your cat will have digestive problem. Raw meat or raw fish is good enough for cat. Don't buy preprocessing cat food.
