WPG @ CGY

Bold of the Bombers to start their bye a week early. Basically a disaster from top to bottom, though their one TD was pretty cool.

Calgary really brought it, they're one to keep an eye on in the West.

The on-field graphics were glitchy and distracting.

Hopefully the two-week bye helps the Bombers in the long run :D

I kind of like how open the CFL feels at the moment. No goliaths.

I love those graphics that are shoved down our throats in televised pro sports now /s. Nothing (for now) is worse though imo than when all the ads on the hockey boards are moving in sync. (Leafs games have this sometimes - idk about other Canadian NHL teams for now; Leafs might be somewhat 'ahead' due to larger ad revenue perhaps)

I'm not completely against the ads - sure, they're crass, but we live in a society, y'know?

But at least make them seamless.

Seems like everyone under the sun has no praise for the Bombers this year. All the broadcasters and analysts talk about in the West is SK being 4-0 and how poorly all the other teams are doing.

Very little talk about the Bombers generally speaking. I find most coverage of team Blue is a footnote at best.

Eh, that's fine I guess. People thought we were dead last year after our 0-4 start, yet somehow we "surprised" everyone by storming back and taking #1 in the West and going to the Grey Cup for a 5th consecutive time.

Lots of games to go in the season and with the Grey Cup being in Winnipeg, I'm not going to be surprised when we make it 6 consecutive appearances and a championship win on home turf.

I am totally neutral and not biased at all. /s

I think half the fanbase takes the Bombers for granted because they've been CFL mainstays, half wrote them off because they're getting old, and the third half just wants to talk about Toronto.

I don't follow much CFL analysis to be honest. I believe you when you say there isn't much talk about the Bombers these days. I wonder if that's because they're such a dynasty, such a known commodity, that there's an expectation they end up in the Western Finals while everything else in the West seems up in the air (and more of a current story).

It's awesome the Grey Cup is in Winnipeg this year. I'm confident the Bombers will be there. What a party that's going to be 😎

Some sort of surprising outcomes last weekend: Tiger-Cats took the Als, and maybe less surprising, the Riders beat the Lions.

The hottest team in the league, the Riders (4-0), have a bye week this week. It seems like the balance of power is shifting in the West. Riders vs Bombers in the West Finals?

The East feels a little more open still, with no clear second place team to the Als.

My Argos won without Chad Kelly yesterday, so that was nice as a Boatmen supporter. The Argos put up most of their points in the first half and were more stagnant offensively in the second half. They managed to hold off the RBs though.

Lot of interesting games this week. The Stamps have been performing well, so the Bombers will have to take that win from them. A nice even 401 (local highway) match between the Ti-Cats and Argos. Can the Lions redeem themselves against the Beast of the East Als? Another even-looking match between the RBs and Elks. No more racist pro sports teams names (!) - lets extend Edmonton to 0-4 given the franchise's BS re-embracing of @#$imos.

It's funny, I was just about to say the narratives of the season seem to be taking shape, but you're right - there are still some things up in the air.

Riders vs Bombers in the West Finals?

I wouldn't be mad about that at all. But I do hope BC can get things more together - I like Buck Pierce.

I'd also like to see the defending champs gather some more steam.
