Google's CEO, Sundar Pichai, is doing something unexpected for one of the biggest names in tech: casually building web apps with AI coding assistants.

"I wish I could do more," Pichai said on Wednesday at Bloomberg Tech in San Francisco.

"I've just been messing around — either with Cursor or I vibe coded with Replit — trying to build a custom webpage with all the sources of information I wanted in one place. I could type a location and get it all," Pichai said.

Maybe he can write some more Google products that he can then turn around and cancel.

He's breaking the cardinal rule: Never get high on your own supply, my dude.

We don't even need complex AI to replace CEOs

One ruby script can easily:

  • Lie to the public
  • Tell shareholders to buy more stock
  • Shift blame when a product horrifically disfigures someone
  • Lobby Congress
  • Lay off thousands of employees and take a fat bonus

That last one is why, have you ever tried getting a bank account in the name of a script?

The US courts gave corporations person-hood, AI just around the corner.

I've been messing around with vibe-painting, myself. Damn it feels good to be an artist.

Sounds like an appropriate use of time for a person in his position. AI obsolete the CEO, please.

Something I hadn’t considered. AI coding is going to convince managers that they were right all along — that coding can be quick and easy and engineers are just lazy.

CEOs always tell the truth right?

Google (and every other billionaire/corporation) needs plumbing repair

So he needed a massive AI to replicate the yahoo.com landing page from 1997.

If you haven't already, divest yourself of MS software and services.
