Personally, I’m glad to hear it. Rafe wanted to tell Rafe’s story Rafe’s way with seeming complete disregard for Jordan’s source material. They should have taken Brandon Sanderson’s feedback more seriously. The casting and filming were superb, but the writing killed it long ago.
I just hope somebody will get the rights from iwot and turn it into a long running animated series. That would be awesome.
The writing was so damn bad. When, one fucking time, did TWoT ever use the phrase, "Bend the knee,"? Did it!? Am i mistaken? That pissed me off so fucking bad, and then it just kept being said.
So many changes were made, it stopped even being the same story at the end of season 1, sorta passable, but then completely off the rails in season 2. Yes, lots has to be cut for the sake of brevity, but it quickly became a shitty ripoff of the original instead of an adaptation.
Well that’s sad. They just grew their beard.
I can't say I didn't expect it, but it's still a bummer.
Let's hope it gets the Dune treatment and we'll see another adaptation in 30 years.
Does that mean we should start sending copies of the books to French kids with an interest in cinema?
