Somebody at work was telling me his conspiracy theories and one was that Gates got divorced around the time Ghislaine Maxwell was being convinced. He reckons Melinda Gates found some horrible truths.

Absolutely no way or knowing one way or the other but it was an interesting theory.

Didn't Melinda go on public record saying the Epstein files were a part of their divorce?

what's on the records is that bill's business dealings with epstein were central to the divorce. the conclusion you reach based on this will depend on if you think he was a financier+trafficker or if you think the financiership was strictly him being a trafficker with a cover

I don't know the details. But I would guess if it was purely financial she would be less appalled by their relationship?
What I meant is that Epstein did play a part in their divorce, either just a motive or a real moral reason.

Edit: Found a quote:

That October, things had reached a fever pitch when The New York Times published a deeply disturbing article that raised serious questions about Bill’s conduct – questions that suggested he had betrayed not only our marriage but also my values.

I would guess based on that it's not just financial

I just found this quote in an interview in 2022.

“I did not like that he had meetings with Jeffrey Epstein, no. I made that clear to him,” she explained, adding that she met with the convicted sex trafficker “exactly one time” because she “wanted to see who this man was.” She continued, “I regretted it the second I walked in the door. He was abhorrent. He was evil personified. My heart breaks for these women.”

the issue is that at a certain point, even if your business relationship with a horrible monster is strictly business, you're still enabling a horrible monster. either way, bill gates is complicit and enabled some of the worst things imaginable

edit: for clarity's sake, my personal outlook is that financier was pure cover and everyone who did business with him had an uncomplicated relationship to him. i think bill gates was not only complicit but participatory

Good find! I'll pass that back to my local conspiracy expert, see what he thinks.
