It's so fucked up that these ultra wealthy companies are exploiting people like this. Uber was the first to bring legislation up near me, and I did not appreciate them winning that vote. They ran a successful, multi-million dollar campaign to delude voters into thinking full employee status actually hurt the drivers.

I talked to drivers about this in California¹; lots of them bought the bullshit, got angry when i said they were wrong.

¹i wasn't paying for the rides. Didn't have options.
