In the first mass call following Saturday’s protest, which drew an estimated 7 million people, speakers called on participants to support their local Democratic Party politicians.

This was always going to be their goal. However, there has been a lot of organizing happening at these events that are to the left of Democrats. Some of the events were even run by groups like the PSL. The official organizers are likely very disconnected from the masses in ways the boots in the ground organizers are not.
