DHS spokesperson Tricia McLaughlin said in a statement. “These smears have led to a 1,000% increase in assaults against our officers — including terrorist threats, vehicle attacks, and bounties on their heads.”

I'd love to see the data to back that up.

Also, we can do better. Why not a 10,000% increase? Or a 100,000% increase?

An incredibly convenient property of small numbers is that if you add a small number to a very small number, the % increase is orders of magnitude larger than both numbers combined and that looks very impressive when you are pretending to do statistics.
