I think it's about half-assed gay representation. Like they just slap "gay" on a character and that's their entire personality. Is that what you mean about checklist diversity?
I get why people are critical of rainbow washing but when the fake support disappeared after Trump was elected it was really scary to see how fragile the movement is. So personally, I'll take someone trying and failing at representation over nothing.
so you'd rather be lied to and told everything is "o-gay" instead of them showing who they really are and you get to choose who you support?
Not a gay person but generally people usually prefer people try to be nice rather than openly hostile.
know what you get when you allow yourself to be represented by fools?
you're made into a clown.
That kind of representation is harming the movement more than it helps tho.
